Exploring Córdoba: My First Day with a Local Guide

Today, I met Lou, a local guide who helps volunteers navigate the beautiful city of Córdoba, Argentina. Her guidance was invaluable as she took me on my first city tour. We started our journey from our accommodation, a 45-minute bus ride from Córdoba, and spent around 3 hours discovering the city’s highlights.

Highlights of My Córdoba Tour

Lou showed me some of the must-see attractions, including the main museums and the city’s central park—a perfect spot to unwind. It was incredibly helpful to have an English-speaking guide who could answer my questions. I managed to resolve some financial matters with Western Union and even got a great exchange rate. Plus, she assisted me in setting up my local travel card, which will make getting around much easier.

First Impressions of Córdoba

Compared to Buenos Aires, Córdoba has a more relaxed atmosphere. After returning from the tour, I explored a nearby coffee shop—a cozy spot close to our accommodation—and went for a short walk. During my stroll, I discovered a large river just a short distance away, perfect for future walks and exploration.

Evening Plans: Tasting Local Flavors

Tonight, Lou is organizing a group outing to a popular local burger joint. It’s a great chance to taste some authentic Argentine cuisine and connect with fellow travelers. Despite the rain that has been falling most of the day, it’s been a wonderful start to my stay in Córdoba!
