Today, I started my day with breakfast before deciding to take a trip to Viña del Mar, a city just a short distance from Valparaíso. My first stop was at a few shopping malls, which were already buzzing with Christmas preparations. I spent about half an hour browsing the stores before heading to the main attraction—the beach.
The beach was absolutely stunning, and it reminded me of Surfers Paradise in Brisbane. Stretching along a two-mile esplanade, the area offered plenty of spots to relax. I grabbed lunch and a refreshing milkshake at a nearby café before continuing my stroll.
As I walked along the beach, I discovered a picturesque pier. The calming ocean breeze and lively atmosphere made it a memorable experience. By 4:45 PM, I decided to head back to Valparaíso. Once there, I roamed the colorful streets, admiring the vibrant street art that adorns many walls. Much of the art carries political themes and messages advocating for change, adding depth to the city’s character.
In the evening, I found a viewing platform with a breathtaking panoramic view of Valparaíso. As the night fell, the weather turned chilly and windy, so I wrapped up my day with a delicious salmon dinner at a cozy restaurant. Back at the hostel, I relaxed and reflected on the wonderful experiences of the day.
