Kicking off the weekend, I set out on my first adventure to Córdoba, Argentina’s vibrant, second-largest city. A 45-minute bus ride from the volunteer house brought me near Córdoba’s historic cathedral, just a five-minute walk away.
My first stop was the stunning cathedral square, where I spent some time capturing photos. It happened to be market day, with stalls stretching several blocks selling everything from gifts and clothes to unique local items. I stumbled upon a cozy coffee shop tucked away down a side street.
After enjoying a warm drink, I continued exploring and found a quaint takeaway spot offering toasted baguettes and chips—a delicious and affordable option. Córdoba’s streets were easy to navigate, and I soon discovered fascinating museums and the spacious Parque Sarmiento, a perfect place to relax and take in the city’s beauty. I spent a couple of hours here, enjoying a refreshing beer after a long stroll.
Later, I headed back and connected with a fellow volunteer for an Italian dinner. Córdoba’s welcoming vibe made for an unforgettable first day.
